On a Sunday afternoon in October, over 40 of us gathered to put together Operation Christmas Child boxes at our Packing Party. Donations continued to come in that night in addition to all the things collected over the weeks before. Surrounded by Christmas music and cookies everyone filled their boxes, wrote out a “Who I am” for the child receiving the box, prayed over the items they placed in the box, and packed it full. We initially set a goal of 48 boxes but by the time we were finished, we had filled 61 boxes to the brim! And even though we packed more than we expected we still received well over $600 to be able to ship all of them.
A special thanks on behalf of Joyce Patton and Pastor Jeremy, to all those who brought something to pack, those who gave money for the shipping, and for those who came out to put all the boxes together. We will do it again next year!
