Children's Ministry News

August 2022

With VBS now completed, the Children's Ministry will be looking ahead to the new school year. On August 7 we will celebrate Promotion Sunday. All children will be recognized as they move to the next grade level. In some cases, that will mean moving to a different Sunday School class. We will also continue this church's tradition of presenting a Bible to the rising second graders. Finally, the Children's Ministry will formally move our rising sixth graders into the Youth Ministry.

Also on August 7 will have the Blessing of the Backpacks. Whether your child or youth carries a backpack or a briefcase as they return to school (or off to college, or even to a new job), we would like to make sure their tools of the trade are blessed as a reminder that God always goes with them.

August 14 will be our church-wide Block Party. During this event we will have an opportunity to meet with the parents of our children (through fifth grade) to outline plans for the coming school year, including our new Wednesday night programming.

At NFUMC, our goal is to provide a foundation of experiences on which children build a life of learning and growth toward a mature and vital faith.  We would love to have you join us.

Worship at NFUMC

Children are welcomed and encouraged to worship with us at NFUMC!

There are children's bulletins at each entrance to the Sanctuary for them to use during worship.

Need a break? Children are always welcome in our Sanctuary but we do have a Parent Room located on the second floor of the Education Wing. From the Sanctuary, exit by the rear entrance door on the left side of altar area,  turn right, and follow the “nursery” signs. The live stream of worship is available in the room.

Blended Worship: 8:30am
Includes a children's message and children's church during the sermon.

Sunday School: 9:45am
Children up through grade 5 will meet together in the Education Wing, then split into groups by age. Parents are asked to pick their children up in their classrooms at 10:35am.

Traditional Worship: 10:45am
Includes a children's message and children's church during the sermon.
