Room in the Inn
Room in the Inn is a non-profit organization in Nashville dedicated to serving the homeless. During the winter, they partner with many congregations around the area to provide shelter and a hot meal for their clients.
NFUMC is honored to be included in that partnership. On the second Thursday, from November through March, we host up to twelve gentlemen as part of Room in the Inn. We offer a hot dinner, fellowship, necessities, shelter, breakfast, and prayer. Several groups within NFUMC take turns "hosting" the event, such as the Sunday School Classes, Jacob's Ladder Preschool, or individual families and their neighbors.
How can you help? To host one of the nights, we need dinner and breakfast provided and served, people to fellowship and serve our guests, two men to spend the night at the church with our guests, and a driver or drivers to pick up the men from Nashville in the evening, and return them to Nashville the next morning. We also need donations of new underwear and socks, gently used men's clothing, and travel-sized toiletries.
